One person was killed after a car accident occurred in Southwest Austin.

According to police officials, the accident occurred at 3 a.m. on Twilight Shadow Drive when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle causing it to flip and rollover as a result.

The Austin-American Statesman reported that the driver ran from the scene by foot after the crash occurred. The passenger in the vehicle was injured in the collision and was later pronounced dead early Sunday morning. The driver is still being sought after at this time.

The identity of the passenger killed in the accident has not yet been released.
