Man killed in Chevy Blazer rollover. A South Bend man was killed Friday night in a rollover crash on Indiana 23 north of New Road in Liberty Township, according to St. Joseph County Police spokeswoman. The man, who was ejected during the Chevy Blazer rollover, was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where he later died, Thirion said. Emergency personnel found the driver on the ground about 100 feet away from his Chevy Blazer SUV. A few minutes before the 8:30 p.m. crash, police received a call about an erratic driver on Indiana 23, and the vehicle description and license plate number matched the SUV involved in the crash, police said. Only the Blazer was involved in the rollover / accident. A section of Indiana Highway 23 was closed for about an hour and a half as emergency crews worked at the scene. The Chevy Blazer rollover occurred on February 10. 2006.
