A car carrying three children and three adults was involved in a rollover accident on Texas 146 along Attwater Avenue in Texas City around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4.

According to Texas City police Captain Brian Goetschius, a 7-year-old boy, who is in critical condition after suffering serious head injuries, was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch by helicopter for careful observation.  The other two children suffered only minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

Authorities said the children were travelling together with their mother who was given a test for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol.

The identities of the victims have yet to be disclosed pending further investigation.
