Japanese automaker Toyota is recalling 870,000 vehicles that may have blocked air conditioning condensers, which may cause leaks that can eventually affect the airbag system, an article published on October 18 stated.

The recall affects 2012-2013 models of Toyota Camrys, Venzas, and Avalons, in addition to the hybrid models of the Camrys and Avalons. According to the company, the vehicles may have spider webs blocking the condenser drain of the air conditioning unit. Toyota said a potential airbag malfunction may occur if the water leaking from the condenser reached the airbag control system.

Incidents in which the airbags of the affected vehicles suddenly deployed and error airbag warning lights went on have been reported. In the reported malfunction incidents, all vehicles had spider webs blocking the drain system of the A/C condenser.
