Kia has recently announced the recall of over 20,000 Kia Borregos after a possible defect was found in the brake pedal mount that may cause it break off in a collision.
The possible defect may occur if the fiberglass material breaks off and causes the vehicle to immobilize after a crash. This then may cause the SUV to flip and rollover and the only way to stop the vehicle would be to pull the emergency parking brake.
Kia dealerships are urging car owners to bring their vehicle in for an appointment in order to have the vehicle’s brakes fixed free of charge. The vehicles involved in this recall were made between May 2008 and January 2009.
