A Texas family has filed a lawsuit against Takata Corp. and Honda after a family member was recently killed in a minor vehicular accident in Houston, wacotrib.com stated on January 30.

According to the lawsuit filed by the Solis family, the two companies failed to examine the faulty airbags installed in the vehicles. The family alleges that metal fragments from an exploding airbag killed their loved one. Carlos Solis, 35, was allegedly killed by “blunt force injuries.” Though his death has not been directly linked to an exploding airbag, both Takata and Honda confirmed that the airbag inflator in his vehicle was ruptured in the crash. Solis’s family is also suing for the failure to fix the recalled vehicle before it was sold to them early last year.
