A 21-year-old Kenton, Michigan man was driving on icy roads Tuesday morning when he became involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident. The accident took place in Hematite Township around 8 a.m. in the morning. The man was driving on U.S. 141 when the hazardous road conditions caused him to lose control of his vehicle.

The vehicle, which was heading north on the highway, drifted into a ditch on the side of the road, before flipping over onto its roof. According to police in the area, the road conditions have been a growing concern to drivers, with more ice and snow continuing to coat the roadways each day. The driver was able to remove himself from his own vehicle after the rollover accident, and sustained only minor injuries upon escaping from the damaged vehicle.

The driver took care of his own injuries, and did not need to be treated at a hospital. No one else was in the vehicle with him at the time of the accident, and no charges were issued by police. The car was towed off of the roadway by a towing company, and police were investigating the scene of the accident.
