A lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Co. that alleges that their failure to inform dealers and customers about a tire defect, in order to prevent another recall, caused a man’s death in a van rollover accident.
The lawsuit claims that the company is responsible for the wrongful death of the man and they are asking that three plaintiffs receive anywhere between $175 million to $185 million in compensation.
The lawsuit alleges that the company knew of the tire defect, but did not warn consumers in order to avoid a the negative PR that would come with it. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the wife and two sons of a 41-year-old man that was killed after a Ford F-350 Econoline van rollover that occurred in 2004.
