A single-car accident on Tuesday in Lisbon caused one teen to be sent to the hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

According to local news sources, the accident took place just after 7:30 p.m. when the 16-year-old driver was traveling on Joliet Road and she lost control of the car causing it to veer off the side of the roadway.

The car then flipped and rolled over as a result. The driver was cited for failing to reduce speed in order to avoid a car accident. She is currently still in Morris Hospital recovering at this time.
